A Poll Of What You Have (And Don’t Have)

On August 19, 2009, in Basic, Being, Culture, Goodwill, Health, Motivation, by Black Fives

A quick poll: Which is longer, the list of what you don’t have in your life, or the list of what you do have?

To help measure people’s self-perceptions of how they are doing, I created this quick poll.

Please take a moment to answer:

Which of these lists is longer for you?

Great poll Claude….it was a no-brainer for me, my ‘haves’ are most definitely longer than my ‘have-nots’, and of the ‘have-not’ list there are only a few things that i really want…like, one day when my Pontiac G6 grows up it wants to be a BMW X5 {{{giggle}}!!

The Best thing in Life is to recognize that what one has at this time outweighs those things he/she doesn’t have -

My “Haves” consist of a Loving Wife God Blessed me with; Children who appreciates their Father; a passion to help those disenfranchised; the ability to create something from nothing; and of course a great network of colleagues-

Claude – we applaud You -

@Tony, we are all blessed, no doubt. Yet as the soup lines begin to include our neighbors, family and/or friends, increasing attention will have to be paid to the “have nots”. These are folks who, like you and I, may have answered just as positively, only a few short months ago.

It’d be interesting to see what communities will do to embrace this new group. The perception was that they were all minorities who “didn’t want to work”. Now the lines are many blocks long, for a few jobs at the Sheraton. What’s going to be interesting to me is how long it will take us all to realize that America has lost its financial insularity, which has been a long time coming.

Overall expectations may need to shift downward, with this, our new fiscal reality.

    Can I getta witnesssss?

A rich man/woman is not one w/the most, but one that needs the least. Be thankful for what you have and do not concentrate on what you don’t.

“I got the Sun in the Morning and the Moon at night…….” Sorry–I couldn’t help myself (and I just dated myself) with the words from an “Annie Get Your Gun” Show Tune. And Yes, that lottery winning Would be Wonderful just now (it would help a lot of people if I got it). But “I’m suckin’ air” and I have food to eat and a roof over my head……Ahhhhh-the good life. Love you Claude

  10. This has me wondering something. Are some of the responses influenced by the prior results? In other words, if you show up to this poll and see that 90% of the respondents already voted a certain way, does that influence you? If so, what does that imply for the collective? For leaders? For the media? If so then it means that good vibes beget good vibes. Thank you!
