“Thoughts become things.”

What does that mean?

This is about how ideas become reality.

Meanwhile, what’s a “brand map?”

A brand map is how I decided to represent, all at once, my many ideas about Black Fives, and how they fit together. You can do the same thing with your own ideas.

My ideas are turning into reality, and here’s why:

  • I tell people about them;
  • I write about them;
  • I draw pictures of them.

This “brand map” is the picture I’ve drawn. If my six-year-old can draw treasure maps, then I can draw this. He gets credit for the idea. If you can carry a photograph of some hot babe at all times as a reminder (or an image in your mind) then you can do this. Same thing.

Any successful basketball player knows that visualizing free throws, jump shots, defensive stops, blocks, rebounds … is the key to winning. MJ was good at this, no?

If its OK with you, I’m going to pick different parts of this map to write about from time to time, to let you know where I’m at — where Black Fives is at. That way it won’t seem like I’m all over the place. Everything will anchor back to the map.

I have my map with me at all times, not only to remind me and keep me focused, but also so I can whip it out if I’m ever sitting next to someone hot … no seriously, if either 1) this can help them, or 2) they can help me.

By the way, that quote up top is from Napoleon Hill in Think And Grow Rich, the grandfather of all “self-help” motivational books, which you will hear me talking about a lot.

    Wow, I think that this is great. The brand map shows all of the ideas that you were telling me about the company, how they all intertwine and how they are all related. It’s amazing how much you have done with Black Fives in the past couple of months. I wish you the best and any way I can help let me know.

    Mr. Johnson,

    Again, you’re forward thinking. To that point, you’ll be successful because you allow your passion to drive your decisions. I like what you’ve done with your brand map a very useful tool in keeping on target to make B5 a recognizable name/brand. At any rate, Congratulations!!!
