Original Laser-Detailed Leather All Star (White)
White. Leather upper.
These vintage-inspired sneakers use the pre-Chuck Taylor logo design, with an upper made of laser-detailed leather with intricate etching inspired by the art-deco ballroom style of the 1920s and 1930s and reminiscent of men’s “wing-tip” dress shoes.
The tongue includes an iconic logo of a couple dancing, from a Renaissance Ballroom dance program from that period.
The Renaissance Ballroom in Harlem (New York City) was built in 1923 and was the home court of the world’s champion New York Renaissance basketball team.
Converse outfitted the Rens with its then-state-of-the-art shoes.
(Note that all sizes are in Men’s. Women’s equivalent sizes are usually 2 sizes up, so a Men’s 7 is a Women’s 9, and so on.)
