Pro Leather 1976Converse 1933 Rens All Star

The original: The New York Rens wore this shoe as they played in the Renaissance Ballroom on 138th and Seventh in Harlem, and while they barnstormed around the country, pioneering the game of basketball.

The story is that a researcher at Converse found an original sneaker, and then replicated the shoe down to its worn outsole, ankle reinforcement tape, and wool lining.

Converse also distressed the signature patch and added the shoe’s vintage year (1933) to the tongue.
