The new BlackFives.com website is up!
And it’s built using WordPress information management software that was originally meant for blogging.
Why is this such a big deal?
Because it makes the entire site much easier to maintain, just like a blog. And that extra ease-of-use paves the way for many more possibilities.
What’s WordPress?
WordPress is a state-of-the-art publishing platform with a focus on aesthetics, web standards, and usability. WordPress is both free and priceless at the same time.
The whole thing is an information management system, which means that all of your data and details will be easily and elegantly organized.
So if you want to change something, or re-arrange something, then you don’t have to figure out anything or ever do any programming.
If you want to add new fancy features, all you have to do is look for a free plug-in. There are thousands of free plug-ins you can find just by doing a search from right within WordPress.
Once you find one you like you can install it with a few mouse clicks without ever exiting. Then you set up the new feature to suit you by changing the settings with a few more clicks.
In other words, you don’t need an expert to install it or run it. This may not seem important if you have a small amount of content, but when you have hundreds of links, articles, images and related stuff … that could become a headache.
Unless you have WordPress!
If you are thinking about getting a website, do it on a blog platform instead. And if you do that, then you might as well use WordPress.
I mean, you can literally “do-it-yourself.”
One more thing.
After completing this exercise, I now feel that I could teach an online class on how to do it! In fact, many people have asked me to do just that. So, I’ll definitely consider it. I like to be helpful, and I like to share especially when something is so valuable and easy to achieve with the right exposure. I learned how to do all of this pretty much on my own by searching around the web for details. But why should you?
So, if I do create a little class, I’ll you know.
Meanwhile, please enjoy the new BlackFives.com!
