The photo exhibit we staged to benefit the Black Fives Community Fund was a wonderful success, proving it’s still possible to create something from nothing.

The photo exhibit opening reception we staged recently to benefit the Black Fives Community Fund was a wonderful success.  It was called, “The Flower of Now.”

First, it was my first time exhibiting anything resembling art since I was in junior high school!  So it felt great to stage this and make it happen.

Some images from the photo exhibit called "The Flower of Now," benefiting the Black Fives Community Fund.

Then, everyone loved the photos, and people seemed to have had a good time.  It was fun!

Furthermore, the exhibit was very well received by photography aficionados and flower experts!  This created some possible next steps as far as future shows displaying one of my “hobbies.”

That's me, chatting about the Black Fives Era, flowers, and life.

Also, the exhibit itself got a wonderful full-color, full-page write up in the main local newspaper, the Greenwich Time.

The gallery space at the Garden Education Center of Greenwich offers a fine setting for any exhibit, but is especially appropriate for flowers.

In addition, the photographs stayed there in an ongoing exhibit which ends this week. So it’s not too late to check it out.

People had a good time, partly because we also had refreshments like wine and cheese.

Finally, we received generous contributions toward the Black Fives Community Fund. So if on just that basis alone, it was really great and worthwhile.

It also proved that it is still possible to create something from nothing.

Thank very much, to all those who attended and supported the event as well as the ongoing exhibit.
