What Would You Ask The President If You Had Only 10 Seconds To Do It?

On July 15, 2009, in Children, Family, History, Politics, Premium, Relationships, by Black Fives

If you got a personal tour of the White House, by a senior appointed official, what (very quick) question would you ask the President if you bumped into him?

(From Claude Johnson for Baller-in-Chief)

I’m going on a personal tour of the White House on Friday, along with my family, conducted by a senior appointed official who works there.

This official is the dear friend of a dear friend.

The whole thing is an honor and a privilege and this may never ever happen to me or us again. So I am going to treat it that way and be ready.

Now, we don’t know if President Obama will be home. But what if he is, and what if we bump into him while walking around?

If that happens then I will likely only get to ask one quick question.

But, of the many I might have, which one?

What question would you ask?

I’ve got my kids working a kids version: What one question would you ask Sasha and Malia if you ran into them at the jungle gym?

As for me, one wish is to see the basketball court out back, and to check out the portable hoops set up on the tennis courts. Maybe get one or two jumpers off. Or a layup. Or just hang from the rim? Only kidding. :-)

Actually, I know that everything we do and see will be memorable.

Whatever happens, you can be sure I’ll let you know all about it!

    Mr. Obama,

I voted for you believing that together we can make a difference – coming at a future cost, no doubt. I’m good with that; however, I recently lost my job and my family’s cost of living has been increasing in this economy. Could you kindly take a moment to tell me HOW AND WHEN your good intentions will result in real benefits for the struggling middle class in this country?

    Thank you, Mr. President.

I’d ask: Why no black interior designers have never had a chance to work at the White house? Which I suppose would be more politely phrased, Have you considered employing a black designer like Henry Mitchell or Shelia Bridges?

    Claude,

On Thursday night, President Obama will address the NAACP Centennial Convention in New York which means he’ll be taking a red eye back to Washington, DC to answer your questions on Friday. I have been at the NAACP Centennial Convention here in New York all this week. So far, I have met and, or had a photo opportunity with prominent NAACP members that included Reverend Al Sharpton, Julian Bond, Honorable Judge Mathis, Honorable Michael Steele, Kweisi Mfume, Colin Powell, Congressman John Conyers, Thelma Houston, Dionne Warwick, Kool Moe Dee, and more. I’ll send you some pictures later. I’ll be waiting to meet and greet President Obama too. But if I don’t get the chance to meet him, then you should ask him how he liked the NAACP Centennial Convention in New York which is where your brother was.

    Thanks,
    Lawrence

    Claude,

On-the-other-hand, what if you do get to see President Obama and he allows a picture to be taken. It might look like this one when Ziggy Marley visited the White House.

In the process of you possibly becoming the African American President of Harvard Law, did you face racial resistence on a similiar level to running for President as an African American?

    Have a great time.

I never thought about it, I would compliment the job he was doing well done. And thank him for his presents. I have known some of his kinsfolk from Kenya on his father side for ten years; I have never met people as nice as them. Ask something from the heart. Good Luck

in 10 seconds … Do you want to make a wager of $1 if you think the Bulls will win a Championship during his time in office.

its only 10 seconds …can’t change the world, can’t give advice and it may prove a chuckle enough that you may get an addition moment with him. If they win, you have reason to revisit Pres. Obama to pay the $1.00 debt thus opening up an additional moment to talk. Being a sports person, he may even invite you to talk about the Black Fives in depth with him. it’s nly 10 seconds.

    Mr. Johnson,

I have ten seconds to say something to Presdent Barack Obama and what would that be to get him to tell Reggie Love to schedule me for a meeting to really talk about some issues? That’s what’s on my mind, the question to get me back for the sit down that will give me an opportunity to really make some meaningful statements in a discussion for the ages.

I don’t know at this time what I might say, but a few things center around why the administration didn’t send a representative to the Conference on Race, the increased engagement of “Our” young daughters and sons in undeclared wars in Afganistan! Let’s get out of the wars that take lives and get busy on the wars to save lives. I like the Health Plan from your platform, democratic primary, and the presidential race. Stay true to what you stated so that we, the voters, can pressure local politicians to make “Your” promises a “Reality.”
