Have you heard about our presentation? It’s called “Lessons from the Black Fives Era: How YOU Can Make History Now.” It’s a new talk by Claude Johnson, the founder and president of BlackFives.com, in which he discusses:
- The little-known, fascinating history of African Americans in basketball prior the racial integration of the N.B.A.
- The valuable lessons from those early pioneers that we could apply today.
- Insights about his own personal journey in life and business, from forming his company, Black Fives, Inc., starting with nothing but a library card, to forming a licensing partnership with Nike, to raising three little boys in today’s world.
We’ve been working hard to “package” this program so that anyone can bring us in front of their group for immediate impact.
A slideshow of highlights for the “Black Fives” brand:
We say “immediate impact” because in this informative and inspiring talk you and your attendees will learn how to:
- Discover your true purpose in minutes!
- Eliminate all problems in seconds!
- Melt away negativity with ease!
- Improve relationships overnight!
- Make your life really matter, right now!
A tall order indeed! Yet, participants have been overwhelmingly satisfied, by their own assessments. Here are some examples:
- “Very informative, interesting, and it made me think and smile. Useful event.”
- “Great discussion about life.”
- “Inspirational, good combo of ideas.”
- “Very good, excellent communicator.”
- “Very insightful and could relate to college kids.”
- “Impressed, thinking outside the box.”
- “New perspective, how to be present in the moment, very important!”
- “Loved it, very informative.”
- “Enjoyed a lot, very interesting.”

This tells us something about what’s going on in the lives of people right now. But if the pioneers of the Black Fives Era did it, then we can too! Find out how!
- How did they create something from nothing?
- How did they keep escalating to higher and bigger stages of success?
- How did they overcome major external and internal obstacles?
- What could we learn from them that’s useful today?
This history is especially relevant now because:
- This year (2010) is the 100th anniversary of black basketball teams getting paid to play!
- The marriage of music and basketball was an African American innovation that goes back to the early 1900s.
- The growth and evolution of basketball was parallel to the evolution of black culture as a whole!
If you would like to have Claude Johnson visit with your group, college, church, team, company, or club, then please let us know by completing the form below. We’ll get in touch, and then work with you and your organization to help put together a great program! Thank you!
